Bonzo the Bully
Bonzo Madrid is commander of salamander army. He is bigger and stronger then a lot of the kids at battle school but he is not a good commander. He refuses to let Ender participate in practices and refuses to let Ender fire his laser during battle. Bonzo's major weakness is his spanish pride. Bonzo hates it if anything makes him seem inferior to anyone else. Ender hurts Bonzo's pride when yelling at Major Anderson for cheating poorly at the game. Ender has his smallest soldier named Bean tell Bonzo and his entire army what they should have done. Bonzo doesn't take the criticism well and plans to kill Ender. Bonzo fights Ender in the shower. Bonzo loses the fight and his life. I do not understand how he can be so cruel and take no criticism or any sort of advice with out taking offense. He causes his army to lose many matches and he causes himself to die over his pride. Personally i think Bonzo is a baby if his pride is so sensitive he feels murder is the best solution for embarrassment. I LIKE COLORS

Bonzo's pride might be a result of whatever kind of home he comes from. We never really get a glimpse into his world, so we may never know...
ReplyDeleteBut, to people like Bonzo, death would be a trivial matter. So long as he died defending his honor, Bonzo's mission was technically a success. That's all that matters to people like that: honor. If you can take nothing else with you to the grave, take your honor.
Good job! It's good that you noticed that Bonzo is the reason for Salamander army's multiple losses.
